Daiga Rozensteine, DVM

Medical Director / Veterinarian

Dr. Daiga Rozensteine has been with Madison Street Animal Hospital since 2019. Born in Latvia, she knew by age five that she wanted to devote her life to animals and by ten was determined to become a veterinarian. While working at an animal shelter called Dzivnieku Draugs in Latvia, she helped establish a charity hospital for stray animals and pets of low-income families.

She’s a graduate of the Latvia University of Agriculture, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and obtained her Washington State Veterinary License in 2015. She has extensive experience in emergency care and general practice. She loves and feels deeply connected to each of her patients and strives to provide them with the highest quality care. When away from her patients, she can be found hiking, traveling, cooking vegan food, and volunteering at Pasado’s Safe Haven. Dr. Rozensteine also shares her home with Bholu, a rescued dog from India.

Caroline Davey, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to animals and their unique energies and personalities. My favorite stories to hear are those about people and their connections to their animal companions. In high school, I started working at my neighborhood vet clinic, which I had seen provide incredible care to my childhood best friend (Rocket, a loving bichon frise). I pursued an undergraduate degree in Anthrozoology at Carroll College, which is the study of human-animal interactions and relationships, and fell in love with the history, science, and psychology of these connections.

I went to veterinary school at Washington State University, where I became especially interested in preventative medicine and surgery, integrative medicine, and animal behavior. I plan to pursue certifications in acupuncture and physical therapy. As a veterinarian, I am guided by pet parents to honor their relationship with their animal family member and believe that working with animals to help them heal in turn strengthens the humans who love them. Cara shares these values and seeks staff who live up to exceptional care for both animals and their parents. I am excited to be a part of the team that keeps your family healthy.

My family: My husband and I have a goofy terrier mix named Zuko and a sassy and cuddly cat named Mango (he is the prince of the house). We four love to spend our weekends on the couch with a good cup of coffee, watching soccer, or out exploring new areas of the city. I enjoy baking, reading, working out, and spending time chatting on the phone with friends and family.

Sara Shaw, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Sara Shaw grew up in the Bay Area of California in a home where she was always surrounded by animals. Even though as a child she wanted to be a veterinarian, life took her down other routes, and she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Portland State University. After graduation and some soul searching, she decided to return to her childhood dream and become a veterinarian. She graduated with honors from Oregon State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. After completing an internship in Michigan, she moved to Spokane and has been happily working in the field ever since.

She and her husband moved to Seattle just this summer, and she has been enjoying exploring her new city. Dr. Shaw has a particular interest in senior pets and helping them (and their people) live their fullest lives possible. She believes strongly in treating every animal the way she would like her own furry loved ones to be treated. When she is not snuggling, petting, or trying to sweet-talk her patients, she spends her time hiking and bike riding with her husband, cooking, traveling, and snuggling her own perfect kitty.

Jeff Cheek

LVT / Hospital Administrator

With over 30 years of experience in veterinary medicine, I serve as our Hospital Director, partnering with Dr. Daiga in overseeing daily operations and supporting our team in delivering high-quality, compassionate care. My focus on leadership, client experience, and positive clinic culture helps ensure every pet and owner feels confident and welcomed from the moment they walk in.

Outside of the clinic, I’m a big sports fan who enjoys spending time with my two grown sons, getting out on the golf course (usually with more enthusiasm than skill), and exploring the many great PNW breweries with my wife of over 20 years. At home, I’m kept company by our large male cat, Bruce (Wayne), and our “in-the-shadows” female cat, Lily.

Jacq

Floor Manager / Veterinary Assistant

Jacq is a dedicated veterinary professional whose passion for animal care is deeply rooted in both personal and professional experiences. With a lifelong love for animals, Jacq began their journey in the veterinary field through volunteer work at PAWS Wildlife Center here in the greater Seattle area. This experience, combined with intermittent roles in daycares and boarding facilities, solidified a commitment to animal welfare. If Jacq were to tell every pet owner one thing that they recommend regarding veterinary care, they would say that preventative care for your pet will always be more cost-effective than treatment.

Jacq will always emphasize the importance of routine lab work, vaccinations, and parasite prevention to help pets live their healthiest lives! Outside of the veterinary clinic walls, you can find Jacq spending time with their beloved chihuahua mix, Beni, who is affectionately referred to as their “one and only son.” They also enjoy filling their free time with crafting, reading, long walks with their favorite music accompanying them, or playing video games!

Ezzy

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Ezzy (she/her) is a native of the Windy City of Chicago. Aspiring to explore the PNW and to begin a career in the veterinary medical field, Ezzy settled into Seattle, WA, in 2017. She currently adores living in the Wallingford neighborhood with her partner, Eric, her senior Pomeranian mix, Cubby, and her Ragdoll kitty, Kimchi.

Ezzy greatly enjoys outdoor activities, such as paddle boarding, hiking/backpacking, camping, roller skating, & bouldering. Her main hobbies include plant care, sketching, water coloring, & cross stitching. Her favorite social gathering activities are game nights and drag brunches. Ezzy gained her experience as an LVT from various general practices, animal shelters, and veterinary mobile practices. From these experiences, Ezzy learned her main passions are Fear Free handling, geriatric care, and building strong relationships with patients & their families.

Ling Yu, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

I moved to Seattle from New York City in 2021 with my partner, Andrew, and our dog, Arty, and I haven’t looked back. Growing up, my passion for animals drove me more than anything, even in a household that didn’t see the value in pets. Becoming a veterinarian felt like the perfect way to pursue that lifelong drive and surround myself with the animals I love.

After earning my veterinary degree from Ross University and completing my clinical year at Purdue, I’ve been working in small animal practice since 2016. I have a particular passion for dermatology, finding it incredibly rewarding to witness the positive impact we can make in our patients’ lives. When I’m not at work, I take full advantage of Seattle’s access to snowboarding, dog parks, hiking trails, and road cycling—and recently, I’ve even taken up pickleball. During the darker months, you’ll find us cozying up with video games and a few rounds of mahjong.

Ken Zebrowski, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Originally from Detroit, MI, Dr. Zebrowski grew up with lots of pets in the family. He had an affinity for both animals and medicine, so a career as a veterinarian was the perfect fit. Prior to attending vet school, he worked as a vet assistant and at the Michigan Humane Society. He earned his DVM with honors from Michigan State University in 1987.

Dr. Zebrowski is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association. He says his favorite part of being a veterinarian is client education and partnering with pet owners to find solutions that work for both them and their pets. Dr. Zebrowski has lived in Seattle since 1993, and when he’s not working, he enjoys horticulture, cooking new and different cuisines, and staying active outdoors.

Jackie attended Grand Valley State University and earned a B.S. in Biology. Throughout her career, she has done fieldwork with the Mississippi Sandhill Crane National Wildlife Refuge, working with their Greater Sage Grouse and Wild Turkeys in various states. Jackie moved to Seattle in 2018 and started working at Madison Street as a Veterinary Assistant. On her days off, she can be found hiking up a mountain.

My passion for animals began when my family adopted our first kitty when I was a child. I remember being absolutely obsessed with her, patiently waiting for hours, even creating a trail of treats to get her to finally come out, and that’s when I made the discovery that I am allergic to kitties. I had gone back upstairs to my parents, and my eyes were all puffy and red, but I had the biggest smile on my face.

I currently live with my partner in Seattle and our 2 kitty babies, Mimi (Tabby in the photo, 6 years) and Momo (Tuxedo, 3 years). They are my whole life and a big reason why I put my whole heart into every animal I see.

My partner is my best friend, so most weekends are spent with him and our babies. We love gaming (League of Legends, Dark Tide, It Takes 2), going to the gym, going out shopping, trying new restaurants, spending time outside, and just being in each other’s company. I’m eager to add a new member to the family and hope to adopt a dog sometime soon.

I graduated from Seattle University with a B.A. in Computer Science and a minor in Biology in 2023, but slowly pivoted over to animal care when I worked at Pet Pros post-graduation as a way to take a break
from tech. That’s where my true love for animals resurfaced, and I became extremely passionate about pet nutrition. I received my pet nutritionist certificates from Earthwise and felt fulfilled being able to help so many people, and developed an appreciation for preventative care. Learning and growth have always been core values for me, so I decided to pursue animal care further and worked as a boarding attendant at another hospital so I could continue helping animals in new ways.

I currently work as a vet assistant at Madison Street Animal Hospital and couldn’t be happier. I had limited experience working in a hospital, but due to the unconditional support and love of the team, I am constantly growing and being challenged to become better every day, and that’s irreplaceable to me. I hope to one day become a Licensed Vet Technician and to keep learning because the better I become, the more animals I can help.

Miriam

Veterinary Assistant

Hailing from the Lone Star State of Texas, Miriam (she/her) fell in love with the PNW after briefly living in Astoria, Oregon, with her partner, Tyler. They share two cats, Vinny and Luxy, whom they love very much. After initially entering veterinary medicine in 2024, she has found passion in animal patient care and connecting with owners over their fur babies. She joined the hospital in October of 2025 and is thrilled to be a part of the team. In her free time, she loves exploring her newfound city, shopping at pop-up flea markets, or simply staying in to play video games.

Ariana

Receptionist

Ariana joined the team in May of 2022 as a receptionist. She grew up with dogs and loving animals. A major benefit was being able to bring her fur baby, Tango the Yorkipoo, to work. After working in the medical field, she changed to the veterinary field to help the animals that can’t fully express themselves. She enjoys working and seeing all the animals that we help. In her spare time, she reads, goes on walks with Tango and her partner, and plays video games.

Amanda

Care Coordinator

Amanda came to Veterinary Medicine during the pandemic. She has a deep love of animals, especially small dogs. Previously, Amanda worked as a Production Manager, Prop Master, and an Actor in Los Angeles, California. She has a BFA in acting and did post-graduate work where she gained her certification at MXAT in Moscow, Russia. In her free time, she loves doing crafts, sewing, making pottery, and singing.

Bholu

Security Guard

My name is Bholu, and I was born in a small town in northern India back in 2016. I had a challenging start to my life – I sustained a few injuries, including the loss of my front paw from a car accident. I also bravely survived the canine distemper virus. Despite these early hardships, I grew into a very strong and courageous dog ( that’s what my mom tells me every day).

In 2018, my mom ( Dr. Daiga) adopted me, and I moved to the United States to start a new chapter. My life has been full of adventure ever since. I even have a prosthetic leg, which helps me stay mobile and enjoy hiking and traveling.

I am also a beloved member of our team here at Madison Street Animal Hospital. I come to work with my mom every day, and I take my role as MSAH patrol dog very seriously, always making sure my friends know if someone new is around. When I am not on duty, I spend most of my day sleeping on a comfy sofa in my office, enjoying cuddles from my work friends.
